{"id":749,"date":"2023-10-23T18:21:07","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T18:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/?p=749"},"modified":"2023-10-23T18:22:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T18:22:48","slug":"prepare-your-house-for-your-puppy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/?p=749","title":{"rendered":"Prepare your house for your puppy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Once you decided to purchase (or to adopt) a poodle, before you bring him at home, you should check if your house it\u2019s safe for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">There is a long list <strong>of objects that must be kept away from the dog, especially if he is a puppy:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Electric wires, which the poodle could try to chew risking to die;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Small objects may be swallowed by puppies that may die by suffocation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemical substances as insecticides, drugs, etc.;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poisonous plants, as wisteria, daffodils, oleander, etc.;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knifes, scissors, cutters and other sharp objects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water containers, in which the puppies may sink in;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Important documents that the dogs may destroy by eating them;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trash cans that may contain dangerous food for their health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bagno2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-751\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bagno2.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bagno2-257x300.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">If you have <strong>carpets <\/strong>in your house, you should know that puppy may pee on it. If there are <strong>any stairs, or open doors, that your dog may use to go outside, <\/strong>you should lock them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">If you already have <strong>other animals, <\/strong>you should keep them away from your puppy. Poodles are friendly with other animals but their hunting instinct could lead them to attack. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Remember that a puppy does not know the difference between a toy or a furniture, a carpet or a bag. The best way to avoid the puppy to eat these things is to keep them away from him. If you caught him eating the carpet, you have to gently scold him.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"691\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/ChiccoEnricaLorenzini.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-752\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/ChiccoEnricaLorenzini.png 525w, https:\/\/www.amicideicani.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/ChiccoEnricaLorenzini-228x300.png 228w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Choose a peaceful spot <strong>where to put his kennel. <\/strong>Keep always with you the <strong>number, and the address, of a vet.<\/strong> <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Consider the possibility to sign an <strong>insurance <\/strong>that will repay you any damages your dog may cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Buy the first important stuffs as<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A food and a water bowl;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An appropriate size collar and a leash;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food (consult an expert about the quantity and quality) and some biscuits to reward him when he deserves it;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All the necessary stuff for his bath;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least, a couple of non-toxic toys that he can chew. During their first weeks, puppies tend to chew everything they found due to their tooths growth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sachets to collect their needs and a plastic bottle.
